Miss Poppy and the Hummingbird This is the last day of the Art and Craft Fair in Ocean Shores, WA. The location is at the Convention Center and will be closing at 4 pm today.

It's been an extremely busy weekend but I still have a nice selection of prints available as well as a 4 framed pieces. 2 small and 2 large. Stop by if you're in town and have a peek. You will find an eclectic assortment of artists at the event too. There is also live music and a beer garden to relax in the sun and take in the breeze from the ocean.

Its Been a While...

There have been lots of changes since pursuing a career in just photography and art. I left my full time paying job two years ago and it's been scary, peaceful and exciting. I've done lots of session photography, was picked up by a second gallery, started freelancing for a magazine and news organization in 2016 and so much more. My creativity has blossomed into a different direction since I attended Photoshop World in Las Vegas. So I guess you could say things are pretty good. I only wish everyone could experience following their passion.

Now that I have the free time to create more things, which makes me happy happy happy, I have the opportunity to enter more competitions and hopefully reach more eyes. This year I decided to enter the Collective Visions Gallery (CVG) Juried show. I have never entered this show before and was delighted to receive notification that one of the pieces I submitted was invited to show. (See below ) They also used the image for some advertising and included it in media coverage. I'm so excited to attend and see all the wonderful artist work this coming weekend.

From what I have seen the pieces submitted were outstanding, creative and thoughtful.

Life Changes

Never Looking Back One of the things I have always loved to do is compete in competitions. I've been competing since I was a little girl, from state competitions in modeling to competing on a national level in horseback riding English and Western showmanship. Today, I compete in Photography and Digital Arts. There is something about the challenge of being the best at what you do, and if not, striving to be better than you currently are.

Over the past year, there have been several life changes. I left a job that was soul sucking and decided to pursue something that made me happy. I got married to my boyfriend of 10 years, and although we do not have human children, we have 4 wonderful 4 legged fur babies that are simply adored and probably taken care of better than some people.

I have been avoiding blogging simply because I do not really know how to or what to say. It seems blogging these days is very personal in nature and to be honest that is not something I have been that comfortable with. So, starting with this blog post, it will be my attempt to share a little more of myself than I typically would.
